Frequently asked questions

Practical answers for choosing, connecting and using your TROHESTAR device.

Should I choose a 1D or 2D scanner?

A 1D reader scans supported linear barcodes. A 2D reader can also read supported two-dimensional codes, such as QR codes. Check the reader type on the exact variant you select; capabilities can differ within a model range.

How is a data collector different from a scanner?

A barcode scanner is designed for barcode input. A data collector adds a screen and keypad for supported collection and inventory tasks. Review each model’s modes, export options and connection methods before choosing.

Is a docking cradle included with N1 and N7?

N1 and N7 have separate Scanner Only and Scanner + Dock options. A dock is included with the Scanner + Dock configuration. Check your selected option and its product image before adding it to your bag.

Which N3 configurations are available?

N3 has blue and gray 1D CCD configurations, and a black 2D configuration. Color and reading capability are linked to these specific options; a blue or gray N3 is not the black 2D version.

Are Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz and USB the same connection?

They are different connection paths. Bluetooth pairs with a compatible host. A 2.4 GHz connection uses the matching receiver. USB uses a wired connection. Use only the connection methods listed for your model and configuration.

How do I check whether my computer or application is compatible?

Tell us your product model, reader configuration, operating system, application and intended connection. We can help you check the available setup information. Do not assume that a connection method means every application or operating system is supported.

Do all TROHESTAR devices need a driver?

Driver requirements depend on the device, connection, operating system and application. Request the documents for your exact model before installing software. A driver intended for another model or host system may not be suitable.

What should I check if my device will not connect?

Check the model label, power or charge state, cable or receiver connection, and the connection method you selected. Note any message shown and the steps already tried. Contact support for the model-specific setup guide rather than using unrelated pairing or reset instructions.

Can every configuration read a QR code?

No. Choose a supported 2D reader configuration for QR codes. A 1D-only reader is intended for supported linear barcodes. Check the exact product option rather than relying on the model name alone.

Can I collect inventory data without uploading every scan immediately?

Supported collection and export modes depend on the model. N5 supports instant upload or offline collection followed by export, with file and keyboard export options. Review the selected model’s product details and setup guide for the applicable workflow.

What information helps diagnose a barcode-reading problem?

Include the model and 1D/2D option, barcode type, whether the code is printed or displayed on a screen, the host device and application, and a description of the result. Use a non-sensitive sample barcode when sharing an example.

What is the difference between P11 and P12?

P11 is a portable direct thermal receipt printer with Bluetooth connectivity and USB-C charging. P12 is a desktop direct thermal label printer with USB and LAN connections. They serve different output formats; confirm media and software requirements for your setup.

Can P12 use Bluetooth?

The verified P12 connection methods are USB and LAN. A Bluetooth connection is not listed for this model. Ask support to check the intended connection and printing software before purchase.

What paper or labels should I buy?

Use media intended for your exact printer and application. Both P11 and P12 use direct thermal printing. Confirm the media format, size and compatible software with support before buying stock; receipt paper and label media are different.

What should I send when asking about a printing issue?

Provide the printer model, operating system, printing application, connection, media size, selected print settings and exact error message. Describe whether the issue is connection, alignment, output size or print quality. Do not include private customer labels or payment information.

Where can I get a user manual or driver?

Open User Manual & Driver, choose your model and select Request documents. Tell us the operating system and connection you use so that we can check the appropriate guide or available driver.

How can I get help with an existing order?

Use the contact form with your order number, product model and a short description of the question. Check the Shipping Policy, Return & Refund and Warranty pages for the applicable terms. Do not send full card details or account passwords.

Which details should I include in a warranty request?

Include proof of purchase or your order number, the product model and configuration, serial number if available, a description of the fault and the steps already tried. Photos or a short video may help if support asks for them. Read the Warranty page for coverage and conditions.
